Tom was formerly principal and founder of tkr Consulting Associates.  GLB Associates and tkr Consulting worked in partnership for multiple years, sharing resources and experience as needed to support any one particular engagement.  Tom helps our clients analyze the issues, design the solutions, qualify and select the technologies and vendors to meet those requirements, and then helps implement those solutions. Prior to launching tkr Consulting Associates, Tom worked in companies from small privately held operations to large Fortune 50 firms in roles ranging from warehousing and maintenance operations to manufacturing engineering, software development and implementation, industry analyst/research director, and 3PL start-up CIO and start-up consulting firm practice leader.

His experiences also include manufacturing maintenance, material handling engineering design, and supply chain execution, distribution, and logistics systems.  Prior to devoting himself full time to tkr Consulting Associates, Tom was the director for ESYNC’s Integration Services consulting group and the practice leader for the Supply Chain and Enterprise Integration (SCEI) consulting practice. The SCEI practice focused on assisting enterprises with the difficult task of implementing the technologies necessary to support collaborative supply chain business models.  Prior to ESYNC, he was the Director of Technology/CIO for Con-Way Logistics, a third party logistics company.  He was responsible for the selection, implementation, and integration of all the business applications necessary to run a 3PL.  These applications included financials, transportation management system, in-transit visibility system, order management system, warehouse management system and enterprise application integration tools.  Prior to Con-Way, Tom was a Research Director at the Gartner Group, an information technology research advisory and analysis firm.  In this capacity, he had specific responsibilities in the Integrated Logistics Strategies service for warehouse management and transportation management applications and technologies.  Prior to joining Gartner Group, Tom was a distribution consultant, project/account manager and applications designer for several warehouse management systems providers. He has spoken at Gartner Group Symposia, at the annual meeting and conference of the Warehouse Education and Research Council and at other industry symposia.
